Jaunty Indie Pop

The Liverpudlian group The Wombats are bringing out their single 'Moving To New York' on the wonderful KIDS label on the 23rd of October; it's a rocky indie track full of soapily distorted guitar and glorious youthful vocals. It'll go down well in the indie clubs and there's sure be a spectacle to see live; that's apparent from the off.

Like an Arctic Monkeys for kids, citing such pop-culture references as doing fish and cardboard boxes to trance music in the joyous B-side 'Party In A Forest (Where's Laura?)', which demonstrates another side of the band's songwriting ability, that they can glue whimsical lyrics with cool synths and whatnot and still produce something wholly likeable. Yes, The Wombats are wholly likeable, so keep an ear peeled...
