Dry Kill Logic

New Yorkers Dry Kill Logic have been one of the hardest working bands in the US metal scene for a long time. They seems to have been criminally under rated in the past but new album Of Vengeance & Violence seems to thrust them out of the underground.

Kicking off with 'My Dying Heart', the song has chunking verses akin to Killswitch and Shadows Fall with a melodic Mudvayne style chorus to boot. Vocalist Cliff Rigano has the impressive quality to jump from melodic to growling at the drop of the hat. '4039' keeps up the ear punishing sound with guitarist Jason Bozzi putting some impressive leads whilst still creating a strong rhythm. 'Boneyard' is one of the most aggressive tracks on the album complete with gang vocals and some dirty bass lines.

'Kingdom Of The Blind' shows the more melodic side to Dry Kill Logic with Cliff Rigano crooning his way through the song. Which is a great contrast to 'Dead Man Eyes' which kicks off with some ear bleeding shredding before jumping into something more brutal. The sound is tight courtesy of the Scrap 60 producers Eddie Wohl and Anthrax guitarist Rob Caggiano, who harness the aggressive energy and make the band sound even rawer. Closing track 'In Memoria Di' is a beautiful acoustic track recounting loss and sorrow.

Of Vengeance And Violence is an unrelenting record that has a couple of surprises along the way. An excellent album from a truly skilled band.
