A bit like Papa Roach

This is a six track ep from Italian band 7 Times Suicide that bodes well for their future, coming across like Papa Roach with their hardcore guitar sound overlaid with quality vocals from singer Lorenzo.

Opener 'So' starts things off with a good heavy sound before breaking down into a very Papa Roach track that swings from slow and heavy to fast and furious and sets the tone for the album nicely with a chorus groove you could swing your pants to.
So it goes on through 'Turn Back Time' and 'Sounds Like Revolution' with good solid post punk that'll make you think of things breaking in slow motion as they squeeze out every last bit of sincerity in the music video.

If you like your music angsty with parts you can leap about to but still allows you to feel unhappy then this will fit the bill perfectly, like fast emo for people who aren't miserable enough to really fit in with the black eyeliner gang. Don't believe me? Check out these lyrics that open the third track 'Sounds Like Revolution'; "He is so satisfied with his life made of broken illusions, promises dead in his lips and lifelong dreams thrown in the wind. Goodbye my friend these are my last words... "

I like this, it sounds like it would have done better about five years ago when Papa Roach sounded very similar but that's no reason to mark it down as the sound is still relevant, it just would have been handy for them to ride in on Papa Roach's coat tails. Did I mention they sound like Papa Roach? Can't remember.

Bizarrely the sixth track on this is a cover of 'My Favourite Game' by The Cardigans and whilst not a bad cover seems like an odd thing to do on an disc with only six songs on it, maybe the record company said give us an ep by Sunday and they only had five songs ready.
According to the press release they are working on a full length album and they have the skills to pull it off nicely. I just hope they develop their own sound a bit more and sound a little less like you know who.
