Rushed and Underdeveloped

Tawn have been causing a bit of a stir in Coventry, Birmingham and Leicester with their live performances and have started to gain themselves a small fan following. The band took four months out from gigging to work on their new album 'Smile! If You Know What's Good For You!'

When this CD dropped through my letterbox I was hopefully that it would be the cream of up and coming British talent, but frankly, it's just disappointing. The songs sound rushed, the lyrics are not up to scratch, and they would benefit from spending more time honing their song writing skills. The album seems childish, and the out of tune sloppy singing is very, very irritating. There is a ray of hope with the rap rock song; 'Come Into The Hood' and 'Here We Are' which is probably the stongest track on this XX track album.

The only good thing I can say about Tawn is that they must be bloody good live because 'Smile! If You Know What's Good For You' is instantly forgettable.
