Living Up To Comparisons?
West Londoners Temple have recorded a live session with the Beeb and been causing a stir on the live scene over the past year or so they've now self funded their EP 'Lemon Tree' for digital release.
The four piece have been compared to acts such as Nirvana and the Strokes but to me their song 'Mother Said' sounds more like the Kooks then either of the bands previously mentioned. Of course, being compared to such hugely successful artists is a compliment but it gives the band a hell of a lot to live up to, and frankly they don't come up to scratch.
However, feature a variety of sounds and it's nice to see that they don't stick to one genre and that they're willing to play with their song. It's not a bad release but is definitely over hyped.
