Odd and Intriguing

This four piece collective from Leytonstone East London are definitely on a different page to most. The EP 'And The Crowd Say Yee Ha Ha' is odd, but odd in a very quirky and intriguing manner. With obvious influences ranging from the low-fi Pavement to the discordant noise of Sonic Youth, they play the obscure and eclectic indie card well.

The contrasting dynamic phrasing from loud, random and fuzzy to quiet, melodic and pretty makes it more listenable than it should be. Ludo seem to be able to blend their soothing melodies with distorted guitar dissonance, one moment pulling you closer and the next slapping you senseless.

'The Ungrateful Ape' combines quirky pop and a math rock influence, while second track 'Yee Ha Ha' dishes out a grungier and more experimental vibe, which seems to be far more noticeable for its complete lack of structure. Next track 'Analogue' tones it down to quiet and the following two tracks on the EP continue with this delivery.

Really this is definitely one for the alt rock fans, they've got it half right I reckon, more of the experimental noise, unstructured rhythms and discordant fuzzy guitars and they could see themselves on the bill for and ATP fest soon enough.
