Marilyn Manson - Eat Me, Drink Me

Marilyn Manson is back with a new album 'Eat Me, Drink Me' which he suitably started recording on Halloween 2006.

'Heart Shaped Glasses' the lead single from the album has already received plenty of airplay on radio stations and music television. It is definitely the snappiest and easily accessible track on the album. On the single we saw Manson undergo a bit of a transformation, he was actually singing and it worked well. Evidently he noticed as 'Eat Me, Drink Me' features some of his most melodic songs to date.

While this album is more melodic it's still dark enough to send his fans wild. In true Manson style he still sings about vampires and mutilation and when he isn't singing melodically his croak seems rougher than ever. Opening track 'If I Was Your Vampire' is the perfect example of Manson's horror style vocals, and is bound to become a Manson classic. The immense tale of dark love is packed full of Manson's gothic imagery, and it perfectly blends tenderness with brutality and beauty with terror. The guitar work on this track is also bloody impressive and it perfectly backs up the lyrics with the ambience they require. 'Evidence' is another shining example of Tim Skold's impressive guitar work, there's an amazing guitar solo and an intense riff, there's no doubt that Manson's previous guitarist will envy Skold for having the lucrative solo spot on 'Eat Me, Drink Me'.

'Eat Me, Drink Me' was recorded at his home studio and co-produced with his bassist Tim Skold, with only two of them working on the album this is the closest Manson has ever been to being unplugged. The album is dark, yet commercial, I think we'll see Marilyn Manson getting lots of new fans with the release of this album. 'Eat Me, Drink Me' is definitely a triumph for Manson.
