That video needs taught a lesson.

That blooming video has gotten far too big for its boots. A couple of decades ago it was about killing the radio star not it has allegedly killed us all. Something should have been said about this before now so thankfully, Anechoic have stepped forward with their 'Video Killed Us All' ep.

The lead track is rather quiet and subdued, the track merely exists as opposed to demanding control or attention, it steps along politely. Okay, it does have some electronic wizardry going on and the vocals have pleading and stretching feel to them but apart from some off-kilter drum parts, theres nothing much that stands out here.

For all that the band are probably going to be singled out for the electronic stuff, the most interesting song here is 'Mexicon 1' and it has a folky feel in the way that it stomps along and the vocal delivery is quite light and airy.

As an overall package, theres nothing with bite or anger, it merely plods along and its difficult to muster up any encouragement or excitement for the review. Music doesn't always need to be exciting and it may be that the band believe they are performing the same sort of understated electronic music that Radiohead have excelled in recently and there is always going to be a market for this sort of stuff but on the whole, this isn't of value.

Three of the four songs are available on the bands myspace site so it may be better for you to head along there and judge them because theres not going to be any fantastic insight into this offering so move along people, theres nothing to see here.
