A Family Affair
The Jacksons, the Nolans, the Osmonds, Hanson, all musical families that have provided us with some highs (and lows) in the world of music. The next musical family to rear their heads are UXL, made up of three young brothers from Birmingham and a family friend.
'Beautiful Today' is a soft rock song that the likes of Nickelback and Journey would be proud of. A good rhythm section in the song makes it a lot more powerful and credible than it probably should be. Second track 'Stay A While' highlights how musically talented these boys are, they play incredibly mature melodic rock as John Tierney's vocals soar over the top. 'Stay A While' is a much stronger track and 'Beautiful Today' would have worked better as a B-side track.
Their blend of smokey American rock and powerful vocals bound to win over legions of fans. UXL could just be a band worth keeping an eye on.
