Another single from indie favourites.

The latest single from Maximo Park's second album 'Our Earthly Pleasures' is 'Girls Who Play Guitars'. An upbeat song with tightly packed riffs and vocals heavy with the trademark Newcastle accent it's exactly what you'd expect if you were already acquainted with the band. A current favourite on MTV2, 'Girls Who Play Guitars' is a song that is short sharp and easy to hum along with. No doubt a live favourite thanks to its insistent beat and energy, it isn't massively memorable but certainly fills its shorter than three minutes running time.

Released over two 7"'s and CD with a variety of demos, exclusive b-sides and edited versions to offer, the single acts as a good precursor to the eagerly awaited autumn tour, much of which has already sold out. If you like your indie poppy yet still with plenty of riffs then you probably like Maximo Park already, if not then give this single a shot soon.
