Debut from London band.
The debut offering from Dirty Hands the colloquially titled 'Get On Yer Bike, Charlie' arrives as a limited 7" and download only. A London-based band made up of students their press release seems keen to paint them as romantic artistes in the Larrikin Love vein by using descriptions like "philosophers, doctors, Francophiles, classicists being among their lot".
The sound here is what you'd expect from the descriptions really, an effort of indie in the same bracket as Bloc Party, The Rumble Strips and countless others. The b-side is more synth driven and stands out from the main track as something slightly more original. I expect Dirty Hands will be playing in indie pubs and clubs soon, and indeed they'd fit in well there I'm sure. Whether they could amount to anything greater though remains to be seen.
