Ultimately rather pointless

Abigail Hopkins is a relation of the famous Anthony Hopkins – in fact, she's his daughter. Unsurprisingly she was raised surrounded by the arts and has been playing music from an early age – first picking up the guitar aged seven. Her career path took a turn at the grand old age of twelve, whereupon she entered the acting world, performing in such films as 'Shadowlands', 'The Remains Of The Day' and 'A Few Selected Exits'; but a passion for music remained with Abigail and in 2002 she founded her own record label – Possessed Records.

'I'll Be Waiting For You By The Bus Stand' is a taste of what we can expect from Abigail's second album 'Blue Satin Alley', the follow-up to 'Smile Road'. 'Blue Satin Alley' was apparently recorded, mixed and mastered in "just 12 days" but whether that signals talent or rush job is hard to say. An acapella piece heavy with clapping, 'I'll Be Waiting For You By The Bus Stand' showcases Abigail's rich voice and talent for arranging harmonies, but at one minute and twenty-six seconds long and the only track on the CD it doesn't do much else. It isn't a bad track per se and may ignite a little further interest in Ms. Hopkins, but the release of such a short track on its own seems rather pointless, even for someone who owns their own record label.
