Ida Maria Oh My God

Ida Maria is a new face on the scene of indie pop, and looks set to shock us all. After writing her first song in her early teens, she later taught herself to play guitar, after lessons with her father didn't go the way he wanted.

The electric pounding opening of 'Oh my God' is just the start of something that has all the conventions of a let down, but turns into a really great track. The rhythm is fast paced with a great rhythm, and the vocals are also pretty good.

The lyrics may be repetitive with each individual verse having one or two repeated lines and then a repetitive chorus. I'm not sure why, but where this should be quite dull, the music actually makes it enjoyable and a good listen. Towards the end the Ida does lose it a little, and begins screaming 'Oh my God!' I'm not able to determine if it's in pleasure or pain though?
