Scot rock.

Scottish rockers 94 Aurora have something really likeable about them; they stick to a straight forward rock sound with the odd classic sounding riff or solo thrown in. Their songs are tuneful, catchy and bouncy and very British sounding but they thankfully don't have the cheeky chappy sound of the current wave of indie bands which has become so overused.

Of the four tracks on their debut EP all have a pop edge: 'Hospital' bounds along with a danceable beat but holds a tinge of melancholy in the lyrics; 'Distressed Song' is almost 80s sounding, like Weezer played by A Flock of Seagulls gone punk, interesting. On 'Come To My Senses' they seem to fall back on an emo sound with verging-on-metal-riffs, however it feels tongue in cheek because they do put their own off key sensibility on it, so it's not as bad as it could be, especially the fast middle section. The final track is a slow cover of 'I Want You Back' by the Jackson 5, no really. Actually it's not that bad, they just about get away with it.
