U2 - An EP Mixture
The four track EP was only released in the USA in June 1985, but was available in the UK as an import. It entered the USA album charts for one week and then was withdrawn for being too “short” for the charts. It was reinstated in April 1987, as a cd and reached number 37. Even though it was an import in the UK it still reached the charts, and in the summer of 1985 reached the lofty position of 11. The title of the album is derived from a line in the song ‘Bad’.
‘Bad’ was recorded at the NEC, Birmingham, on 12th November 1984.
‘A Sort Of Homecoming’ was recorded at Wembley Arena on 15th November 1984, at the sound check. The audience background was add at Good Earth Studios.
‘The Three Sunrises’ was the version that was also found on the B-side of the 12inch single of ‘The Unforgettable Fire’
‘Love Comes Tumbling’ again this was the version that appeared on the B-side of ‘The Unforgettable Fire’ 12inch single.
