Fair to Midland – Dance of the Manatee
Dallas quintet Fair to Midland, offer a sample of their material with this release, 'Dance of the Manatee'. The loud and electric combination of sounds and vocals make this track on of the most interesting you'll hear in a while.
The contrasting dark and light elements of the track work wonders together, making listeners unaware of what is going to be around the corner. The verses are more poppy bouncy rock, while the chorus gets dark especially about half way in where devilish vocals full of anger screaming, "the bigger they are the harder they fall" arise. In other parts the vocals are at times high pitched, but can also work wonders with lower tones. The ending is a magnificent mix of vocals and sounds that will blow you away, and have you dashing out to order the album, 'Fables from a Mayfly: What I Tell You Three Times Is True'.
