Proxy - Jet Lag
The four members of Proxy have been playing together for many years, but it's only now that they come to release their debut single 'Jet Lag', a track full of upbeat kind-hearted pop, with a little rock on the side and a soaring chorus.
What is interesting is the way in which each of the lines in the chorus links through to the next, unlike many singles out there today where each line carries its own connotations. The rhyming is good and the lyrical blend of metaphors and abstractions is classy. The chorus is particularly attractive and definitely worth a listen, as it's guaranteed to have you singing along after a few plays.
The same vocal beat is kept for much of the tune; edgy at times but with a stable volume and pitch, which is a good decision on this track. The guys have done exceptionally well on this single in terms of vocals, guitars and lyrics, and look set to go much further.
