Eclectic Mix With Something For All

There's doesn't seem to be a lot that Bam Margera isn't involved. Skater turned TV star courtesy of Jackass and his own Viva La Bam serious, MTV's golden boy has always been known for his enthusiastic voicing of bands having a helping hand it promoting HIM in the US and even having the likes of Turbenegro turn up tot play a gig at his house. With a love of music that ranges from the blood curdling antics of death metal to the somewhat sedate in comparison rumbles of alternative rock, Bam Margera certainly has an eclectic musical taste, one that he is happy to share and one that is certain to appeal to many.

From the punk fuelled metal charge Vains Of Jenna from Margera's very own label to the innuendo laden pop fun of The Bloodhound Gang, 'Bam Margera Presents Viva La Bands II' is certain to have something to please everyone. With some exclusives recorded especially for this compilation from the likes of Clutch with the stomp fused volley of 'Kings Of Arizona' to Children Of Bodom's 'Tie My Rope' it is clear throughout that Margera has the ability to attract bands to come to his aid. In addition to this there is the inclusion of CKY's body rattling 'Rio Bravo' that boasts Margera's brother on drums and the addictive vibrancy of Kill Hannah's 'Believer' to make you pound your fist in joyful pleasure. But Margera isn't all about the darkly thumping tracks making for some shock inclusions that initially leave you puzzled but that quickly win you over such as the irresistibly infectious 'Ego (Alan Moulder UK Remix)' by The Sounds and the perfectly placid 'Rocketship' from Shiny Toy Guns proving that loud and brash isn't always the way to go, but its does for the majority of the time.

Music isn't the only thing on offer though and as if to show from where Margera truly came from there is a bonus DVD capturing some footage from the Viva La Bam vaults. As you would expect these are skits brimming with gut churning antics from Ryan Dunn being pushed into the filthiest pond imaginable to the comically titled 'Late Night Snack' that involves things being done to a frog that would make even the hardest hillbilly heave. Not an essential addition but nonetheless enjoyable and it is still good to see Margera back doing what he naturally – skate.

With Margera seeming to be on a steady and effective course to take over the world this latest compilation will undoubtedly appeal to the skate kids that have worshipped at Margera's feet for years and even if you hate the man himself there is no denying his taste in music, a taste that has managed to create another group of tracks that are bound to appeal.
