More Bronze Than Silver
Any band that describes themselves as "hard to pigeon hole" should be approached with caution. Granted, sometimes it's impossible to categorise a band who are incredibly original or even, terrible. Most of the time though, it usually means the band keeps changing its mind on what kind of music they want to make and the result can be terribly erratic. As is the case with this track.
'This Is Your Life' is not without its qualities. It has a catchy chorus, a foot tapping rhythm and some good melodies but over all, the track is pretty uninspiring. The vocal delivery of the, admittedly, fun lyrics is less than the track deserves and feels a bit muted at points.
The track also has a nice bassy 'humming' melody that gets a decent airing in parts the track, but at a later point of the track, it is used in a way where it feels like the purpose is to fill time, not good considering the track is pretty short as it is.
A decent effort but it could've been so much more.
