Gold Blade - Psycho
Taken from their upcoming album, 'Rebel Songs', 'Psycho' is a chaotic slab of punk-rock, demanding to be sung along to at the top of your voice whilst dancing like a loon and drinking whiskey. Possibly. However it makes you feel, there's no denying that it's extremely catchy and comes complete with the typical 'wo-oh-oh-ohs' and bass solo you’d expect from a good punk-rock song. The only downside would be the dodgy rap bit that pops up before the last choruses, but don't worry, it'll kick back into the raucous chorus before you start reaching for the 'off' button.
The single also features 5 extra foot-stomping tracks; 'Black Elvis' and 'AC/DC' (recorded live from St. Petersburg SCC station) and 'Hairstyle' (recorded live in Blackpool). The last two songs on the CD are only two of the many covers out there of 'Strictly Hardcore', one by OUTL4W (four eleven year-olds from the North who are scarily good for their age) and the other by Scottish punkers BuzzBomb. Both have different takes on the song, but these added bonuses are definitely worth a listen, and bring the CD to a satisfying close.
Its loud, fun and obnoxious, what more could any punk fan ask for?
