Thrashing Like A Maniac

What more can you ask for if you like you're music ferociously loud, fast as hell and snarling? If you remember a scene where it was perfectly ok to wear those ripped skinny jeans, big trainers and faded offensive band t-shirts, and if you still do, then Earache has provided the answer.
It's only 16 tracks of complete and total, unrelenting, highly energised, and explosive speed metal. Thrash is back!
This Earache Records compilation put together by label main man Dig Pearson not only has one hell of a title and some great artwork, it's also got some of the best new and some not so new thrash and crossover bands around right now. So get ready for some mighty serious, mega fun heads at the ready straight up thrash dude.

Basically the best thing about compilations is that they are perfect for discovering new bands and giving them a listen before buying any of their stuff. They're usually cheaper then albums and you wont get bored listening. Thrashing Like A Maniac is a perfect example of this and it does exactly what it says on the tin.

Although most thrash fans will probably already know the older bands on the comp such as Municipal Waste and SSS there are a few new ones on their that wont be so familiar. Send More Paramedics for example have been going a few years now, but as they're zombie punk/thrash crossover and they might still be fairly unknown. There's a few first recordings on the comp such as Evile's "Thrasher", Bonded By Blood's "Immortal Life" and even a debut from Irelands very own thrashers 'Gama Bomb' Holding up the UK flag there's the likes of Deadfall, Lazerus and the before mentioned Send More Paramedics.

This comp really brings to the forefront a style of music that could have been lost and forgotten in the 80s but it's back, reinvented and re awakened to please old and new fans alike. So if you cant do without the jagged riffs, the ridiculous drumming speeds and the mighty shredding and you knew you grew your hair long for a reason, you might want to get a copy. Likewise to all the non-believers who were convinced this scene is long past its sell by date just go have a listen and you'll see it definitely not stale yet. Go on have fun it's out on the 21st January.
