Utah Saints

Utah Saints is no doubt memorable to those who remember first time round; 1992. Step forward a fair few years and Something Good ’08 is still sampling the warbler herself and a fantastic Van She Tech remix brings it up to date.

Granted, the technology and equipment would have helped this remain so fresh and original, yet the tune still has its worth 16 years later in clubs worldwide. It’s a good radio tune, especially on a Friday afternoon driving home from work and preparing for the night out in the city, but its also a feel good any time of day track. When the sun’s shining (which I’ve yet to endure whilst this has been released) I cannot question the popularity of the Utah Saints second attempt.

I don’t think it’s aimed just as notorious clubbers, but in fact find myself loving the classic vocals and the electronic power to change an old fashioned track into a new vibe. I like the imperfections that appear throughout the track- the intentional clash of noise and sound. It’s different, and dirtier than most commercial dance which appeals to me and the wider picture.

The video aims to avoid cardboard box dancing on the floor, yet the choreography is never going to catch on soulja boy style. In concluision it’s a rediscovery that we can’t despise, just like Wispa chocolate bars. Well almost.
