The Alternative To Chart Music

With stodgy indie music clogging up the brains of our youth, it's no wonder that happy slapping and the like are on the rise. Luckily the antidote could be just around in the corner in the shape of off the wall electro like Micropenis. They may offer very little in the way of lyrical enlightenment, but the kids will certainly be too busy dancing to remember to film random acts of violence on their mobiles.

The duo's demo kicks off with the penetrating electro and vicious verbal onslaught of 'Commie Students'. The drum machine skitters through your skull with echoing ease and a mixture of elegant electro and sharp lines, "Commie students want to fuck me".

'Needledick' is as acerbic as the name may suggest; a fuzzy rock punch in the stomach with icey synth riffs. 'Leningrad', sees clattering percussive sounds burst out from the regular synth beats with sly style and shudder beneath the cutting, yet cool and collected vocals.

Micropenis will stick it to you with icey beats creating a wonderfully chaotic commotion that can't fail but charm, or at least render you pleasantly surprised. Like all of life's most offbeat delights, it's more than worth a try.
