Delicate Summer Electro Indie
Belfast based Oppenheimer deal in jaunty, upbeat, summery electro-pop and truthfully they do it very well. Their latest single ‘Look Up’ is an unpretentious, unadulterated joyous listen. Taking nods from Weezer and cult US synth group Vitesse; this single is like aural Prozac. It’s lovely, and even the most stern of heart won’t fail to be won over by it’s boyish, optimistic tone.
Oppenheimer are showing a lot of promise and could be set to make a real impact over the coming months, especially if their new album lives up to the undoubted promise of this wonderful little single.
The only problem really is the fact the song just seems to end. One minute you are bopping around waiting to hear the infectious chorus again and the next minute it’s gone . . . just like a holiday romance (but one you won’t mind recalling).
