We The Faceless - We The Faceless EP

The grunge scene of the 1990’s is alive and well and currently living here in the United Kingdom. London trio, We The Faceless, release their impressive self titled debut EP. With bits of Mudhoney, Soundgarden and Tool as influences all three are clearly recognisable on the six tracks.

The EP kicks off with “Firefly”, which sounds like a heavier version of Tool’s Schism during the verse. “Burn The Witch” is thankfully not a cover of the Queens of the Stone Age track but more Soundgarden style.

The next two tracks “My Girl” and “Taxi Driver” continue with the high octane grunge before slowing it down quite a bit for “Yellow House” one of those attempted power ballads which do often stick out like a sore thumb on these types of records. It all finishes off back with the faster stuff with the brief shouty “Franco’s Parrot” just to remind all the listeners that they do still rock.

All in all, if you like a bit of grunge you could do a lot worse with your fiver than spending it on this EP. We The Faceless may well become a fair bit bigger in the near future if they continue to progress from here.
