Asbos United Demo
I would have liked to have been able to say some more optimistic things about this untitled project from Asbos, but unfortunately there is nothing much of interest.
The beats are moderately catchy, but there are no memorable rhythms, the tracks do not have much of a tune and to be honest are fairly forgettable and flat; ‘Animal’ shapes this point up perfectly. Out of the four tracks present on this release, there isn’t one that makes me twitch in the shoes I stand in.
The vocals on these songs are not much better than the music they are supporting. The vocal contribution is nothing to write home about and shows no real enthusiasm. On ‘Bright’ you would expect something with a little more oomph thrown in but the vocals are unresponsive to the music and are not emotionally charged. The low rhythm that drives ‘Standlowe’ generates vocals with a little more concern than previous tracks but only just.
These tracks were quite disappointing I’m afraid.
