51 Breaks - Blueprints

Birmingham Indie / Alternative Rockers quartet 51 Breaks, who have been getting good publicity recently, finally release their debut single “Blueprints”. Starting with a plethora of synthesised music as an intro it soon moves into the rockier chorus. The verses are slower, with Michael Turner’s agonised lyrics, sounding perfect for the song about struggles in love.

At just under three minutes long “Blueprints” seems to finish too early, you are expecting one last chorus to finish on a high but it teases you and leaves you alone at the end of the final anguished verse, nicely done too.

51 Breaks are currently doing a short tour of the country including towns like Bishop’s Stortford so there’s a good chance they will play a venue near you. On the basis of this single and that of “Embers” and “Dirty Hands”, the B Sides of this release, they may well be worth checking out.
