Another anthem for the collection
This track has been a big favourite on radio, and closed The Automatic’s set at Leeds Festival last month, marking their return in just the way they’d have hoped.
Although some of the Welsh band’s new material on ‘This Is A Fix’ has seen them move into heavier rock territories, this single is, unsurprisingly as it’s their return statement, everything you’d expect from The Automatic, minus of course the yelping from former keyboardest Alex Pennie. Just enough of the rock to catch the ear of those who normally turn their nose up at something labeled as indie, but sufficient bounce to make it an indie dancefloor filler, plus, of course, a trademark catchy chorus making it perfect for radio.
Those who have seen The Automatic live this summer will confirm that ‘Steve McQueen’ holds it’s own alongside fan favourites ‘Raoul’, ‘Recover’ and ‘Monster’: The Automatic are well and truly back with a bang!
