The Adventures Of...Get Set Radio

Don’t you just love myspace? As well as all the strange and inappropriate people you usually come across occasionally, there are the few times you come across some thing new and interesting. One such interesting band I have come across is Get Set Radio.

Based in Guildford, Surrey and heading out to all areas of the UK, these four lads has become a closely knitted band since forming less than a year ago. They spent the better part of this year writing and recording their debut Ep ‘The New Adventures Of...’ and are getting ready for the release.

What they have created are five incredibly catchy pop punk tunes, each with rich riffs and powerful punches. ‘Turn Up The Heat’ literally made me feel like someone had been fiddling around with the radiator with its hot touch tones and a sly atmosphere, ‘Falling by the Dozen’ has a darker nature than the previous songs on this record which is increased double time with drum rolls and instrumentals of ‘Sacrifice’ approach.

It took me a while to figure out whom the lead vocalist sounded like. Then in walks my sister asking what Fall Out Boy album I was listening to, and it dawned on me how similar in vocals Will Clements sounds to Patrick Stump, just an English version. As Clements sings and is backed up on vocals, you can really hear the effort and emotion that goes in. This is especially noticeable on harmonies of ‘This Kind Of Destruction’.

Considering the length of time the band has been playing together, they seem to have clicked incredibly well. Get Set Radio have made an impression on me through ‘The Adventures Of...’ now time for the live set test…
