An album of radio-friendly unit shifters that kicks ass

Music's playing my lord, come by ya. Moving Units stop you in your tracks and make you go 'Wow, what's this?' New music with oomph is what it is. A vibrant mix of hyperactivity and non-stop foot-tap beat-box bitch-slap. Here you go, shove that in your face.

The energy teeming in this sonic outburst strengthens the loose zeitgeist that exists in the music of Now and hopefully will define and shape it further and direct it to the mass mass. Elements of blur, Queens of the Stone Age, Liars, The Killers and early Idlewild are very present in the mix, a main aesthetic of punk with funky, dirty dance spasms reminiscent of New Order.

The songs wake you up with a smack and permeate deep for their full duration, this is new music, verging on the arty side with enough bravado and sneering integrity to keep your head bopping, ears pinned back and mood engrossed. 'Going For Adds' is killer and followed by the über cool 'Unpersuaded' which plays host to some of flashiest, jaunty backing vocals heard in a while.

Remember the Tears For Fears video for 'Madworld' where the guy's looking through the window and the other's doing that wicked, staccato dance down by the river, well 'Anyone' with it's superb keyboard track will make you want to do that dance. I want to do that dance, I'm listening to 'Anyone'.

The opening 'Emancipation' does seem to free you from the shackles of your day and the manacles of the radio charts that enslave your ears with bad music. 'Between Us & Them' encapsulates some brilliant observations lyric wise and warms the soul with a welcoming Idlewildesque chorus. All the tunes are top of the pops and will get you wondering about how good their live show must be. The preceding single 'Available' is featured in a prime position on the album and catches you with it's hook and doesn't let you go and with pleasure you stay tuned in and turned on.

This record should be a hit with the mild avant-garde, the eccentric punk, the DIY head and the general tune lover alike. A delightful splice of delicious, intelligent music for those that seek some meaning and variety. It's good enough to keep coming back to again and again, 'everybody's in the disco, everybody's on the stereo, here we go…'
