Veil Cassini's debut
Veil Cassini has been playing shows and demonstrating their music across various Devon venues for a while now. But the time has come to release the music to the outside world. The bands self-titled five-track debut is going to be just the beginning…
This twenty minute long Ep reveals the talent behind the minds of the four-piece. With influences including The Strokes, Biffy Clyro, Artic Monkeys and Johnny Cash, expect energetic guitar riffs, strong punching melodies and some tough vocal harmonies. With a singing, song writing, guitar playing combination by brothers Hayd & Aaron Brown as well as Joe Breban on drums and Alex Marchant on bass the line up is complete and pretty flawless.
The tracks present on this release show some very musically outgoing sounds. ‘Wetfish’ may not have been the best track for the Ep’s opener as it is less lively than the other tracks, but it remains an intensified display of the band's talent. ‘Silhouette’ is a catchy song, with very strong vocals, lyrics and rhythms. ‘Box and Cox’ shows the band in their more punk attitude state with a rugged and more raw sound. ‘What Did You Want Me To Say’ mixes roughness with upbeat melodies to create something intense and unique, while ‘Peek A Boo Who’ explores lyrics and shows just how catchy a tune the band can write.
This Ep demonstrates how Veil Cassini can create such a diverse sound through a mere five songs. Roughness, intense rhythms, bouncy melodies, guitar hooks and harmonious vocals; they have a bright future ahead of them.
