RedTrack - Wait Around EP
RedTrack had originally been causing something of a stir down in Essex, especially their native Southend and they now have been causing the same nationally with getting air play by Zane Lowe, Steve Lamacq, Colin Murray as well as on Kerrang Radio. It has not been an easy path to here though, they were scheduled to record their debut single last year only for the night before bassist Phil Blake was attacked, shot in the leg and had a meat cleaver over the head and arm. Not the greatest of starts. Fast forward to this year and they release their EP aptly named 'Wait Around'.
The trio have put together a fairly fine four track EP showcasing their blend of alternative punk meets indie rock. The EP title track opens proceedings and is the best track of the four. The only downside to the EP is it does lack originality, the songs do sound too much like so many other songs. However, it is early days for these guys so hopefully with confidence they will create their own style.
