The Rapscallions - Suck EP

London based self titled Dickenson rockers release their debut EP after gaining a lot of interest down in the capitol in the two years that they have been formed. The four track EP starts with a cheeky cockney number 'Great Swines Drink Alike' which includes what can only be described as a piano straight from Chas and Dave, thankfully it is better than that though.

The next tune, 'Comfort Zone', has a more modern feel to it and is faster than the opener. It is followed by 'Revolting Bar Stewards', seems to be a heavy drinking related theme to these songs here, is a fun little number and shows this band may well have something about them, certainly is a catchy little chorus and first signs of real rockiness even if the verses are slow building.

The final track, 'Capital Punishment', does tend to drag as a four minute song but should not take away from a more than impressive debut. The question now is will the boys follow up with going down the route of trying to sound like Pete Doherty, which there are hints of here, or will they be brave and follow their own path?
