We the Faceless...self-titled

Built on some very hardcore guitar riffs and influenced by a combination of punk, hardcore and grunge scenes of the 1990’s, the self titled release from We The Faceless looks to revive the grunge scene for 2009.

The band member’s diverse tastes in music, as well as their cultural backgrounds bring a six track release with a difference. Powered by enough energies to light up Blackpool Pleasure Beach, this four piece open the Cd with ‘Firefly’, a dark natured song that never loses its power and authority, moves quickly through ‘Burn The Witch’, which keeps the intensity of its predecessor and reaches ‘My Girl’ a track that made me a little edgy as it startled my nerves with its rhythms.

The three remaining tracks differ slightly, amongst the three, 'Taxi Driver’ is a little bouncier with its rhythms and is slightly more upbeat with an added curiosity about it and ‘Yellow House’ has a mellower tone, is a little more placid and quite warming as it builds in momentum. The string arrangement that is attached to this song pushes all other songs to the back of the line making this one a firm favourite.
