Shadows Fall first came to attention back in 1997 when they released their debut 'Somber Eyes To The Sky' through Matthew's own label, Lifeless Records. Massachusettes was loving them and that caught the attention of Century Media and they decided to sign them and release 'Of One Blood'.Brain Fair was recruited and the band went on tour with bands such as Candira, Misfits, Glassjaw and In Flames. Their next release didn't come until 2002 'Art of Balance' and the band found they needed a new drummer too. Jason Bittner stepped up just before they played Ozzfest. This lead to more festivals - Japan's Beast Festival and 4th Annual Take Action Tour. Then they ended up co-headlining the first MTV2 Headbangers Ball Tour with Killswitch Engage and Lamb of God. Their fanbase exploded with all this exposure and they were the first Century Media artist to sell over 100,000 copies of their album ('Art of Balnce'). read less
