Biography
Darkane rose out of the ashes of Agretator, an ill-fated but talented band giving Watchtower a run for the money. When Agretator became history, drummer Peter Wildoer and guitarist Christofer Malmström teamed up with fellow six stringer Klas Ideberg and bass player Jörgen Löfberg. This new outfit immediately began to crystalize a more aggressive, straight forward sound, both technical and brutal. The combination of Peter Wildoer's unique drumming style and a steady floodwave of blistering guitar work created an eerie feeling that can only be described as... Darkane-ish!After the addition of singer Andreas Sydow (replacement for Lawrence Mackrory who sang on the debut 'Rusted Angel'), the band released two other mind-boggling albums, 'Insanity' and 'Expanding Senses'. Never before you heard such a unique mixture of technique, brutality, wickedness and musicality.
Now, after three years of silence, it is finally time to get loud again! 'Layers Of Lies' manages to combine the attitude of 'Rusted Angel' with the progress of 'Expanding Senses' in order to create a powerful masterpiece. As the fourth album from Darkane, the band felt courageous enough to produce 'Layers Of Lies' without an external producer. The result speaks for itself – the sound crushes everything away and fits perfect with Darkane in the year 2005!
