Biography

Seether started in Johannesburg, South Africa in 1994, but were then known as Saron Gas. Under this name they released a debut album 'Fragile' and Wind-up records took notice. This record company pushed for a slot at the Ozzfest festival and Seether began to get noticed. In March 2004 several of their tracks were used on the Punisher Soundtrack including the collaboration with Amy Lee of Evanescence (Shaun's girlfriend). Seether then released their debut album Disclaimer, that got re-released in the same year as Disclaimer II but included tracks that were left off the first edition and tracks from various soundtrack albums that the band had done. Shaun explained that this re-release was how he had wanted the first one to sound like saying it had more energy and feeling. read less
