Put Them In a Blender...
The lead singer from Seether is dating Amy Lee - just in case you wondered. In fact, they're in love and very happy together. I'm sure this had nothing to do with Seether being a part of this tour, but draw your own conclusions.
From the onset, Seether just don't seem to justify their position on the bill - seeming weak, by comparisson, to The Glitterati, who have taken the stage before them. Seether are, to me, what you would get if you put Staind, Nickelback, and Slipknot (without hydraulic dustbins) in a blender and turned it on - something not very pretty but kind of interesting.
There is nothing that is really bad about the set. There are parts where, musically, the band are together well, and the guitar even comes shining out at times and is quite impressive - I think the overall problem is the vocals. They are weak and annoying - the kind of vocals that are there when you wish they weren't.
Half way through the set Amy from Evanescence comes on stage to do her duet for 'Broken' - the crowd obviously love it and suddenly Seether seem a hundred times better. Amy has an amazing voice - and when she takes the helm of this band half way through the song, the entire sound improves and you realise that musically they are good and it works. The only problem is that they just cannot cut it vocally.
Maybe this is a slightly harsh view, but it is the kind of set where I just didn't take anything positive away, sorry guys.
