Biography

Freely mixing rock, blues and funk influences with nods towards Hendrix, Zeppelin, Radiohead and the Buckleys, BlackBud are an exciting trio with a level of musicianship, energy and sheer enjoyment of performance that is rarely seen.

The band formed in December 2002 and went on to play over 140 gigs in its first 18 months of life. 2004 saw them take Glastonbury Festival by storm with maximum-capacity gigs on both the Avalon Stage and New Stage. They were awarded the prestigious New Stage slot as winners from several thousand entries in the nation-wide competition run by the festival.

BlackBud are now signed to the UK’s major independent label, Independiente, whose roster includes Travis, Embrace and Paul Weller, amongst many others.

Plans for the future include an EP release and UK national tour in early 2005, with international dates as the band’s success continues to spread overseas.

BlackBud is Joe Taylor (guitar & vox), Adam Newton (bass) and Sam Nadel (drums).
