Since forming in December 2002 (hence the name), London quintet Days In December have caused a serious stir all across the UK. The product of a varied pool of influences, Days In December specialise in soaring vocal lines and frantic guitar work, straddling the worlds of melody and aggression with a confidence and ability that belies their youth.
Debut single ‘Comfort In Surrounding Space’ racked up impressive sales, its irresistible tunefulness and touches of the dark side attracting fans from all possible rock persuasions. Indeed it helped the band to land support slots with the likes of Funeral For A Friend, Hondo Maclean, Beecher, and Hiding With Girls, as well as a top 20 position in Metal Hammers ’50 bands you must hear in 2004’ chart. Welsh sensations Funeral For A Friend in particular have taken to Days In December with full force, citing the quintet as ones to watch at every opportunity.
The truly exciting thing is, Days In December are only just swinging into top gear. Having honed their craft over the past year via relentless DIY roadwork, the band is now more than ready to take the next step. Brand new E.P ‘Countless Hours Making Waves’ (Released July 19th 2004) features five stunning tracks, each of which showcasing just how special this band really is. Dynamic, intelligent, uncompromising, and gorgeously melodic, songs such as ‘Last Chance Before The Storm’ (featuring a guest vocal appearance from Funeral For A Friend’s Ryan) and the brilliant ‘One Year Late’ can and will not be ignored. 2004 will be their year.
