Biography

It's been one hell of a year for Maroon 5. Not only have they had two top ten hits with 'Harder To Breathe' in January and the massive 'This Love' which charted at No 3 in April (and is the most played radio record in the last three months) but they're Platinum selling album 'Songs About Jane' has sold over 400,000 copies sold in the UK, after spending weeks in the top 5 UK album chart. On 23rd August 2004 one of this year's biggest music success stories release their third single 'She Will Be Loved' via J Records.

Maroon 5 enjoyed their first taste of success on US rock/indie label Octone last year. Embraced by critics including MTV, Spin, Billboard, and Rolling Stone, they frequently topped the Billboard Heatseekers and Rock/Alternative charts. Marrying this with relentless gigging it wasn't long before Maroon 5 had built up enough of a fanbase to sell over 100,000 copies of their debut album 'Songs About Jane' on an independent. This year Clive Davies caught M5's muchhyped gig at the Irving Plaza, NYC - not long after he signed them to J Records and they have since sold over 1.8million in the U.S alone.

'She Will Be Loved' is a beautiful sweeping ballad from their debut album and one of their fans' firm favourites. Produced by Faith No More's producer Matt Wallace, the album 'Songs About Jane' is Maroon 5's very own irresistible blend of funk and rock. From the funk of 'Harder To Breathe', to the groove of 'Secret', the soul of 'Sunday Morning' and the uplifting 'This Love', this is an album that combines late 70's rock and roll such as 'Cream' and with the emotive and soul influence of great artists like Prince and Stevie Wonder. Lyrically 'Songs About Jane' charts the story of lead singer Adam Levine's relationship with a girl called Jane, each song exploring love's emotional ups and downs.

Beverley Hills residents Maroon 5 are five lads in their twenties, who met in high school and have been gigging ever since. As rock is heralded as the new pop Maroon 5 are very timely - as many music listeners move away from the 'manufactured' and towards the 'genuine' Maroon 5 are well placed as one of the most favoured bands of 2004.
