VINYL hosts five childhood friends from an outskirt of the vibrant city of Reykjavik who know excactly where they are going with things. They are bulging with attitude and there is a sense of underlying danger in their music. VINYL is led by the vocalist Kiddi backed up by his twin brother Gulli on drums, Egill the melody maker on guitar, bouncing Addi on bass and proffesor Halli on keyboards.

VINYL have been seeking more and more attention lately in the US and been compared by the press with the likes of Guns N' Roses, Iggy Pop, INXS, Urge Overkill, Jet, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion and the Hives for example. Thats not an easy task to be compared with but VINYL pay no attention to it at all. What other people think about their music and them has never been an issue. VINYL only want to play their rock n' roll to let off some steam and have a good intense time. They play it loud and a bit sleazy and on stage then Kiddi has a knack of provoking the audience while the other boys cane the Hi-Fi with their ballistic riffs and hip swerving melodies. They are extremely dangerous to see live and you get the feeling that something is going to explode at one point. Watching and listening to VINYL is like stealing that candy from a stranger some has said. Considering all the attitude that goes into a VINYL performance, it's no surprise that their show at the largest venue in Iceland’s capital got the crowd excited as they opened for the Foo Fighters last year.

VINYL have never been Reykjavik's favorite son in laws and will propably never be until sudden fame comes from abroad. That though doesn't seem to matter a thing since their debut EP has had all 4 tracks in top 5 on the alternative station in Reykjavik since the wild and intelligent kids of Reykjavik love them.

The VINYL EP has hit the US college scene despite only beeing released in Iceland and debuted at #147 on the CMJ Chart in April. The EP consist of the Icelandic chart toppers Nobody's Fool and Who Gets The Blame, the runner up Miss Iceland and 5th place Le Ballad.
