Charming
Another sweet and catchy single from Canadian four piece Metric, ‘Gimme Sympathy’ is electro sprinkled rock with plenty of fuzz and their trade mark easy to digest melody, which here is instantly hummable. The track runs at under three minutes so by the time this review is at an end I will have had to listen four or five times, enough to guarantee it will be firmly drummed into me, good job it’s a really decent tune and apt to drive you into your dancing shoes rather than off your trolley. Apart from the electro edge, this is quite a straightforward tune for them, far more pop than rock, but it is easy to sing along to and insanely bouncy so it does the trick very well; great electro pop and not as the press release blurb worryingly claims, “electro poop”(luckily a typo).
