Dark pop
Another dose of Haunts darkly theatrical indie-goth-pop taken from their delicious debut album “Haunts”. ‘Love Is Blind’ has a catchy melody, darkly distorted guitars, an infectious foot stomping beat and those deep, sexy vocals, it’s great to dance to. The remixes all emphasise Haunts’ electro side, they’re all average, not really enhancing the originals at all, but they might induce you to buy the album to get a proper feel for the band and what they can really do. ‘Black Eyed Girl’ is probably the best of these, compulsive rolling beats and electro squidges making for a worthy addition to the EP. The remix of ‘Love Is Blind’ is just alright, not too much different from the original and the demo version is an interesting addition letting you see the progression of the track; less heavy and with a lighter tone, but still pretty good.
