The second offering from All Time Low

There has been a lot of talk about All Time Low since the New Year. Having already pleasured our ears and eyes when they SOLD OUT all 13 dates of the Kerrang! Relentless tour, which they headlined and played alongside The Blackout, Young Guns and My Passion. Next on the agenda were the release of the bands new album ‘Nothing Personal’ and single ‘Lost In Stereo’.

The bands debut album ‘So Wrong, It’s Right’ was a huge success in late 2007 and this follow up release will create even more hype surrounding these four young Americans. With the aim of converting pop punk back to the fun loving and positive style it once was, All Time Low completes the job adequately. No matter which of the twelve tracks you listen to, you will instantly grasp the direction All Time Low is heading. They create songs you can sick your teeth into and get you body moving along with as well as sing-along. They are optimistic, positive and upbeat natured tunes that instantly put a smile on your face. The majority are driven by that punk rock feeling with enough pop sensibilities to lighten the mood - expect them to get your adrenaline pumping.

As well as the ongoing bounce the album holds close, there are songs with sharper edges, some that have a slightly more alternative twinge that blends in well with the pop/punk-rock ambiance and a few with a little dance beat. There are also a few slower songs like ‘Stella’, a song that builds on melancholy along with the strong punchy raw segments accounting for the liveability and the united feeling the harmonies achieve. ‘Damned If I Do Ya (Damned If I Don’t)’ is one of the catchiest songs on album, in every aspect; musically, vocally and lyrically. Lyrics also play a large role in ‘Too Much’ where the music is non-impulsive and at a constant level which makes the lyrics that much more audible and focal.

All Time Low has the workings of a great album and 2010 looks set to be their year.
