‘Candy Girl’ is the new single by singer songwriter John McKeown.
Although he began to take an interest in music at the age of twelve, it has unfortunately taken another thirty years to grow to the point where he has been able to create his album ‘When You’re Real’. ‘Candy Girl’ is taken from this album. Although it begins as an acoustic song with gentle guitar melodies continuously flowing, it is set alight by various other instruments, including clapping.
‘Candy Girl’ is probably not for avid music listeners that tend to find pleasure in something a tougher or of a rockier and more upbeat style. However, although there is nothing in particular that stands out or is memorable which is a shame, it is a peaceful and quite tranquil song nevertheless. It is one you need to be in the right frame of mind to want to listen to and enjoy.
