An excellent place to start
Wakefield based rockers The Humour release a booming debut mini album titled ‘You’re Gonna Pay’.
The opening tune is the title track and it has one of those chorus lines you want to shout until your throat hurts. The remaining five songs all seem to hold a similar dominant chorus. Surrounding the strong verse of ‘Let It Go’ is the melodious and extremely powerful chorus. As the song winds down the vocals and music are authoritative, amalgamated and absolutely amazing. ‘Living On Your Own’ is rockier, slightly sharper yet equally as enticing as it engages with you to sing along. As ‘Radio’ approaches, something razor sharp intertwines with the vocals and music. ‘Gasoline’ differs from the others in a sense that it is a touch more upbeat and will get you moving along; the repetition of “running on empty” will certainly have you yelling out loud, or inside at least. The concluding number ‘Mama’ opens with the build of a guitar, the crashing of drums and then explodes with even more unity as a listener longs for more!
There are some persistent catchy rock rhythms at work on these five songs. You will be left with a gleaming smile across your face after hearing these tracks from The Humour.
