Bathe in the noise

This EP has two new tracks 'The Wrong Car' and 'Throw Yourself In The Water Again' as well as two remixed tracks (mixed by Mogwai and Errors). 'The Wrong Car' is incredibly beautiful; the strong Scottish vocals give an edge to the huge, powerful washes of guitar noise, wrapped with gorgeous melody and punctuated with strings. Every time the track quiets down you can feel the goose bumps as you anticipate the build to another wave of emotional intensity which carries you away. Fantastic, if there was just this one track rather than four on the EP you feel could easily just play it over and over and the 7 minute length doesn't feel long enough.

'Throw Yourself In The Water Again' keeps up the intense noise, fuzzy, feedback drenched and lyrically quite dark, guitars are king here, the vocals almost all but drowned out at times so that you can just sit back and let it wash over you. 'The Room' has a sweet tune with distorted vocals, the mixed beat is far more dance in tone than the previous tracks, but it still retains the atmosphere. The Errors remix of 'Reflection Of The Television' again adds a beat, as dance tunes go it's not bad, however, it's not patch on the original and makes you hanker for the washes of guitar noise from the first two tracks.
