Sweet Dreams
Lotus Mason is the creation of Blair Jollands, a New Zealand native who has fronted bands like The Thin Men and El Hula. "Dream Surreal" is a three track EP that showcases the sheer talent that Blair has accumulated over the years and quite frankly is an impressive example of how pop-rock should sound with his new quartet.
Blair's vocal talents add the weight to the tracks that are needed to make them stand out from the vast amount of mundane tunes we are forced with on the radio. All three tracks are pure epics in their quality, if not lengths and have a different feel to them, from the dreamy opening title track to the more edgy final track 'Suicide On The Radio'. Nestled nicely in the middle is the beautiful ballad 'Signs Of Life' which sees Blair's vocals backed perfectly with a female singer, which is interesting as none of the band members are female!
