Impressive guitars
'Lay Your Cards' is out now and available as a free download; this single is essentially a chunky pop-rock tune but what really makes Intraverse stand out is the flashy and impressive guitar work. The melody is catchy, the guitars bring to mind the kind of approach that Coheed and Cambria use; solid riffs, hooky as hell and with some (very) fancy twiddling, nice.
The soft metal riffs and the (almost cheesy) vocal croon pushes the track near to an 80s hair metal sound at times, but this lot definitely don't have a retro sound overall, often mixing things up with changes of key and rhythm and you just can't get that radio friendly melody out of your head, especially after a couple of listens.
